Clear coat failure

I know there is already some posts on this topic. I have a 2015 Ram 2500 and I bought this used with the clear coat already failing. Is Maaco a good place to take it?
Is sanding before taking it to a paint shop a way to save a bit?

If you are paying someone to reapply the clear, then let them reapply the clear. If you try to sand it for them you could just as easily screw up the paint underneath. Even if you are having them fully start over with new paint, sanding still sucks so imma let them do it.

There is no correct way to just apply clear to a basecoat. The basecoat will need to be sanded and re-sprayed. Then the clearcoat reapplied. IF you do any of it yourself, the shop will most likely NOT give you a guarantee on the paint work. When I ran a shop, if you touched it, no guarantee. We never allowed owners to bring in replacement parts either. Unless your truck is black, do not expect a perfect paint match.

Diamond Black Crystal Pearl. They stripped it and repainted it. Seems to be a great match so far. It's been a couple of months since the work was done. Truck is in our RV building when not being used, so no paint fade.
