Clueless about wheels

I haven’t been around in quite some time, and need a little advise quickly. As I am about to take a road trip a week from today and need tires.. but, I have a chance at cheep wheels AND tires, and I am CLUELESS about wheels/offsets/ and anything else about it.
With my ‘05, I have a chance at a set of wheels from an ‘09 4th gen... I have looked and the offset is 5mils different and lugs are listed as different.. can they be used?? Or stay away?

3rd gen and 4th gen rams have same spec wheels. I sold my 2016 wheels to a 3rd gen owner and they fit fine.

Yeah 4th gen wheels will work fine, the only difference is the thread pattern for lug nuts is different between 3rd gens and 4th gens

Just reuse your old lug nuts and you’ll be good

Just a thought, it seems like the time to switch over to unknown tires and rims is not a couple days before you will be totally dependent on your vehicle for a period of time.

They used SAE threads on the 3rd Gens & 4th gen years 2009 & 2010
Actually they used the 9/16ths SAE lug studs back as far as late 2002

In 2011 they changed over to the ZF rear axle & it uses Metric threads

The holes on both the SAE & Metric are the same

Very true, but my tires are SHOT, I’ve trusted them around town, but not for a 5 hour drive, 5 days there, and 5 hours back. And it’s been a money issue, up until a new job recently. Getting everything back to normal now.
