Ok. When taking off from a stop or stopping in general I hear/feel a hard ass clunk from the front driver side of the suspension. I've checked and changed most everything. Ball joints tie rods hun bearing, everything. What else could be causing this? Pitman arm? Steering shaft? Gearbox? I seriously need some help guys. I want to take it to a shop, but I never have the time with my work schedule. Taking off work isn't an option, when I get off shops are closed and I don't trust the truck enough to let someone else drive off in it. So ideas, troubleshooting ideas, anything would be great.

Shocks and springs were replaced when I lowered the front end. How would I troubleshoot the ca bushings?

It's feels like it's in my feet when it happens. And it's almost like something moving back and forth until it hits something depending or going or stopping

I would look at the control arm bushings or possibly a motor mount. Both could transfer through the frame and feel like they're under your feet.

I put a large pry bar into the mounting bracket both on the frame and axle. Pry the CA back and forth inspecting for movement or torn rubber. Bright black rubber is an indication of fresh break, tear or crack.
Since it happens while coming to a stop, go to a large parking lot and have someone watch while you stop/ take off.
Look for the wheel to suddenly move rearward while stopping.

Thanks guys. I didn't think to check the control arm bushings. I get off a little earlier than usual tomorrow. So I'll get to check them out tomorrow.

As for the motor mounts, how would I go about getting those inspected? I don't want to leave anything to guess.

For the motor mounts, place trans in drive and power brake it while someone is watching under the hood, then go to reverse looking for excessive movement

That's how we verify them at work. :D

Have you checked U-joints? Mine were loud AF before I replaced them.

I've checked all but motor mounts and control arm bushings merc. Hard to tell if they're good or bad living alone and not having someone to check for movement. I power break it all the time, I just forgot to have someone looking at the engine. Oops lol

Will control arm bushings cause a loose-ish feeling in the wheel while steering?

Absolutely. They'll basically give you variable caster and camber while driving.

Yea, but the. I would want to just eat.. Ok so after further examination, I noticed that the rubber bushing on the upper driver side control arm is falling apart. So I'm assuming that I've located my clunk. So for my next question. I purchased the parts while I was on lunch today. Both sides upper and lower bushings. Now for the question. Is this something that can be changed in my driveway, or will I have to take it to a shop to have the new bushings pressed in? Or, will a big ass breaker bar be enough to wrench them into place?
