I have a 2016 Big Horn and I have been having this issue every morning now that the temps are consistently cold. I have read the other threads about a "hesitation" on the first start of the day, but this is different. My issue is definitely temperature related. It never happens when the temps are above 40 degrees. It happened a couple of times last winter, but now it is ever single morning. It cranks fine, but then it chokes and sputters like it isn't getting any fuel and then it stalls. On the second start, it fires immediately. Before I make an appointment to take it to the dealer, has anyone had any experience with this? I live in a small town and the service department at the only Dodge dealer isn't exactly top shelf.

I was having this issue earlier in the late fall, so I dumped a can of 44-K in the tank and filled up at a different station with 91. I thought I had solved the issue, but now it is back. I think it was probably just a coincidence though. The temps warmed up a bit after I did that. Now, it is cold again.

You can see what is going on in the video. Never mind the tire pressure ;-) . We have such big temp swings, it is fine when it warms up and I drive a few miles.

Very difficult to hear the start up in this video..... upload one from outside the truck?

I had a hesitant start issue on my truck.....
Good news (atleast for me ) is I found out the issue ......

It was always after my truck sat for a day or more .... once truck was started and driven .... it would start normally until it sat for and extended period again. Occasionally I would even get a random cylinder misfire from this! I was worried. brought to dealer left it there for weeks ... no one could figure it out ....

One day I was racking my brain and remembered I had some wires left in my engine bay that were still connected to battery but not wired in to any auxiliary lights as I had removed the lights ( I just snipped the wires ) .....

Turns out the “snipped wires “ were drawing power from the battery .... the longer is sat... the more draw .....

I removed those wires and boom! No more hesitant start! Hope this helps! You may have a power draw somewhere or s failing battery or alternator.

I will try to get another video from outside tomorrow. I don't think it is battery/alternator. It cranks strong. In the video I posted, watch the RPMs. It hits 1000, then 500 and then it stalls like it isn't getting fuel.

Mine cranked hard too . Worth a look. You don’t have any auxiliary lighting or components wired in?

Tire stores usually have a cold crank test that will tell you what your cold crank amperage is. Hemi's take a considerable more cold crank then most engines.
