The electronics went crazy in my 2019 Laramie a couple of days ago, heat going full blast, couldn't roll down windows, turn signals randomly coming on, radio changing channels and volumes by itself, and then the central display just shut off. I took it to the local dealer and they're telling me they have to replace the computer, a $3000 dollar job because I have a crack (not broken out, just a crack) in the driver side back up light. The dealer is telling me the crack in that light shorted out the computer and they won't cover it under warranty. Anybody else had an issue like this? I really hate to think my "tough Ram truck" can be brought to it's knees by a crack in a tail light. How in the world can a Ram survive as a work truck if a tail light crack shuts it down?

Me thinks the dealer is trying to make a lot of bucks off you. I would move onto a different one.

That is rediculous. Reach out to FCA. Everything is under warranty and if a slight crack can fry a computer they didn't build the right safeguards.

There is not a lot of draw off an LED. Assuming you have full LEDs to fry a computer.

I agree with that. Also report the dealer to FCA. Likely they are trying to get your money and theirs.

My bet is FCA would come back with a form reply about how each dealer is an independent entity and sets their own (bs) policies. Aka they don't care.

I think they care more then most. They take the ratings of the dealerships seriously and will withdraw a license if the dealer isn't up to snuff.

I have slightly more faith then you.

its funny you mention that. last 2 times i bought a new vehicle (vw jetta and before that cadillac cts-v) I got an email from both companies telling me i would be contacted by their respective companies and they hoped i could give them a 5 star or whatever the measure was rating. VW Canada actually followed up with me to thank me on the phone for the positive feedback and did i have anything more to add since i had done the survey? I've had 3 visits to 2 dodge dealerships since I had service done. No request by phone or email for feedback on the visits.
