So i had to have my heads plained, new head and new manifold gaskets.. plus a NVLD pump for emissions.. After all that my coolant level has dropped some since the repair.. Just concerned because i cant afford to have anything go wrong now. I mean it has not dropped a huge amount but can def tell. Its only been around a month or more since the repair, and could my truck use a noticable amount of coolant in that time period? or could i be dealing with more problems?

It's possible you just had a bubble in your cooling system and it burped. Fill it and see what happens.

I would do the usual checks before getting too worried.
After it's up to temp check for bubbles in the reservoir while the truck is running.
Check for coolant in the oil, and oil in the coolant. There could have just been some air in the coolant system. I would fill it up, then mark it with a sharpie and drive it for a few days.. Also check for any signs of coolant under the hood and around the engine bay..

Thanks for the help ill definately get on that.. Also, any special coolant i should put in there? I know its the pink colored stuff, but any good brands or anything?
