Considering upgrading to a 2026 - what types of discounts (if any) off sticker ?

So I’m toying with the idea of upgrading to a 2026 and curious - what % off of sticker is the “norm”.

Assuming I would do better taking a 6cylinder off the lot vs ordering a v8.

I’m torn on buying “another” new truck - currently have a 2021 Tundra Pro w/13k on it. Yea - I know - damn thing isn’t even broken in yet. As much as I like the v8 Tundra and its reliability - also got to admit it’s rather “feature poor”.

As it stands today - I can basically sell the truck for what I paid in 2021 (thanks inflation) which would allow me to buy a 2025 and just pay the difference vs taking on a payment again.

Also 1 any idea as to lead times of going with order on a v8. I’m torn - I want to think the 6 cylinder s going to be fine - but looking at Toyota and some of the headaches the 3rd gen had with the “previously tested” turbo 6 (which was used in high end Lexus SUVs before being rolled out to trucks) - I just think the hemi is the way to go. Not a fan of etorque - but the alternative of seeking out a clean, low mileage used without it and it not being priced stupid is unlikely.

If you are asking for opinions, the good news about the hurricane is even though there are a few reported issues that aren't be fixed by the dealer, but generally it is a good choice. Anyone who buys an e-torque with the current issues is crazy. But if I was in your shoes there is not a simple chance in hell I would sell that TRD pro v8, you will regret it. Toyota maybe best ever vehicles have that engine, of course now obsolete. People who own them are lucky. No turbo is going to come close to that longevity.

Do a search and look into your engine- 5.7l i-force v8 engine 3ur-fe. Any known issues are simple fixes. It''s the same engine that is in their flagship land cruiser.

When a generation lasts 16 years like your truck, it is usually a sign of high quality. And in fact the only reason they didn't keep going was because of govt fuel mileage goals, same with hemi into hurricane.

Mind you what I value might be different then you, I value boring and longevity. I wouldn't say Tundra is better then other trucks like 4 gen Rams or Fords, but it isn't like the high complicated high pressure systems like the hurricane or the absolute crap in good for zero e torque. You have the last year that v8, it is a good engine and decent transmission.

I think the only negative with the Toyota V8 trucks was they are pretty thirsty for fuel compared to most of the others. Other than that, if Toyota still made the V8 truck I would probably be driving one instead of the RAM. My experiences with Lexus and Toyota vehicles are beyond excellent. I would hang on to what you have, at least for a while longer to see if RAM gets some of their electrical and etorque issues squared away.

Thank you! Certainly happy to help, and yes we can sell/ship to all 50
(unless it's a hellcat, apparently)

@Toymaker if you'd like to get a quote on a truck order, or help finding instock with Mark Dodge, feel free to email me at [email protected] or PM me here, either way!

do you do any towing or hauling? If so, go with the Hemi, otherwise the Hurricane seems like a solid choice, plus you’re right about more off sticker going that route.

If I were you I’d trade it now while prices stay high, and don’t look back. Those Covid year Tundras and Tacomas had a lot of weird issues, and pretty serious ones. The Hemi even with its doubters is a 300k engine if maintained

No towing at the moment - that’s one of the considerations though - we have a 24’ pontoon and might be nice to be able to transport it. Could the Tundra handle it - likely. But no trans cooler makes me worry - either spend $2500 to add one (that adds little value to resale or acts as a negative as future buyers think that’s ALL you did was tow something with the truck).

Part of it’s just a desire for something more comfortable too. Even on the high trim - Toyota is fairly basic on the features and comfort level.

But yea - resale cannot be beat. Like I said $54k new and Carvana offer is 53,800 - so you know there’s a couple of grand potentially elsewhere. I see places still asking the moon for these things. I just do t get it myself - I mean nice reliable trucks don’t get me wrong - but if it were a domestic it would be a nice 35k truck - the Toyota badge doesn’t add 20k for me.

I’ll configure what I want - and see where we stand. I’m actually leaning 2500 - but I can just hear wife now “that’s too big”. I’d greatly prefer a smaller cab and 2500 I think rather than this crew max with a 5’ bed. To me it’s a SUV with a useless bed - I like having a truck to move THINGS. It’s usually just me - so the extra seating adds nothing.

Another vote for Anthony and Mark Dodge. Best car buying experience I've ever had. I will definitely seek them out for my next truck purchase.

Depending on which Ram and the trim, Anthony can likely get you 20% total off msrp between rebates and dealer discount, excluding tax, title, and tags.

Factory offers change periodically so the numbers vary, but a well equipped Laramie for example, at 20 off
should be a great deal. Heck, you might get more.

Give Anthony your build sheet and in minutes he can give you the net, net, net.

Ps. To forum regulars ... What ever happened to TK's "inside information" predicting Rams at 35% off msrp :)
