Motor oil, Pennsoil Platinum 5000 miles. Transmission ATF+4 100,000 miles. That's in my work truck. Personal truck, Redline 5W30 5000 miles and Mopar ATF+4 transmission 100,000 miles. What juice are you using and what is your OCI?

Haha. CR bases their ratings on subscribers. It's a bit rigged. I bought a 1974 Toyota Hilux (yeah I'm ancient)Thanks for sharing that. IDK why they didn't have the 'classic' on that list. Where's the Cybertruck!!? You just saved me from dumping my Ram b/c the upholstery is itchy, and the brakes squealed twice ....and going with a do-no-wrong Toyota!!

Two turbos on a small V-6 dooms the product to death too. The Toyota Tundra is butt ugly also. I guess Darth Vader was exhumed and given a job in the design dept.wtf happened to conservative Toyota with blowing up engines? Bizarre.
I'm seeing people going back to GM & Ford from Ram & Toyota. BIL just got a Chevy 2500 w/ 6.6L gas and is happy.
Everything's so complex now all reliability is down. There's a huge market out there for a spartan work truck. The Tradesman comes close but no cigar.Well, that sucks…I remember when I was a kid back in the 50’s…Chrysler was rated
5th best built globally…when quality meant something

Shocking? Consumer Reports 2024 Least Reliable Full-Size Trucks
We collected the data and have the list of the Consumer Reports 2024 least reliable full-size trucks on the market today. A few head-scratchers and one big w...youtu.be
Man, I talk about seat comfort all the damn time and I feel like we are the only outlet that does so. Finally, this year, GM is addressing their hard seats with more comfortable ones in new SUV models. I was doing a video on the new GMC Terrain and the interior designer actually said to me they made the seats wider and more comfortable. My jaw dropped. I was like, you said what? You FINALLY listened to the consumer??? Holy cow did that take forever to get through their heads.Glad I'm milking the current truck - still the most comfortable I've ever owned, by far. Still better than Ford, but I'll give credit to Ford for upping their comfort game significantly.
GM is still stuck in the 1980's for seating - horrible. I test drove one last year.
Important feature for old, beat up guys like me.
Our leaders are going to conquer all global environmental issues by coming down on us. Stricter and stricter rules for Americans will make up for what China, Russia and India won't contribute. There are so many safety rules and regulations now, EPA requirements ...it's almost impossible to build a spartan work truck that doesn't have a lot of systems and computer nannies. You see them in developing countries though. Great Wall and some other countries build these real basic but very tough-looking pick-ups that look like they'll last forever in dusty environments. Simple to work on and not much to fail.
Even if Mfgr's 'could' sell a spartan truck, how many people in the U.S. would buy one? That's about the only 'real' market for full-sized pickups. Years ago you could get a basic reg/cab work truck, but hardly anyone bought them. Everyone want's the 4dr with all the gizmo's and 7yr mortgage (even if they hardly use 80% of the features! Or haul/tow much!) ..and mfgrs are happy to sell them that way (more $$). In a way that's what makes a pickup truck neat -- all the ways people like to 'customize' them.
If this is the only real problem that you have had to date, if it was me, I wouldn't worry about this. Vehicles have been multiple computers (modules) on wheels for a long time now. Like anything electronic, they fail from time to time, as do mechanical components.Having to replace my ABS module at just over 24K miles makes me question the reliability of my '19 Laramie. Not covered under warranty because "it's not part of the drive train, it's a module"
I have a subscription to consumer reports and is just one of the days points I look at. I didn't watch the video, but I know from having my subscription that the only recommended half ton truck is the new/ current ram 1500. All the others including Toyota have too low reliability to recommend. Most of the HD trucks are rated good for reliability and if course those are all us brands. It doesn't seem biased against US brands to me.I never listened to Consumers Report, they seemed to favor foreign vehicles, every vehicle has there quirks, I buy what I like and deal with the issues when they arise, I do all the maintenance myself.
