Has anybody ever changed these before? My bushings are bad on both sides upper and lower and they make for terrible squeaking noise and wear my tires unevenly so I bought some new tires but I'd like to get the ball joints fixed before I put them on so they don't mess up the 1000 set of tires I just bought. How would I go about installing these? I have a mechanic neighbor who said he can help or I have a garage down the street that lets you bring your own parts and do your own labor, you just pay for the space and it has a lifter on it and all the tools I could think of

Pretty easy to do if you have jack stands and a floor jack. You can get the ball joint press kit from autozone. It's a loaner so you get your money back.
Read up on the procedure before you start to get familiar with what needs to happen.

Where in Texas are you?

North Dallas, Plano to be more specific. I think the place down the road has the actual lifts that they use in garages so you can stand under your vehicle and work up.

they arent too bad, theyll just take a good bit of work and time to do. if your ****** about that junkie jacks or whatever Im pretty sure theyre closed, at least for a while. I called them about a week ago and the guy said they were closed for "reorganization" and he said he had no idea when theyd open again

When or if I get my truck fixed I can give you a hand. I have the jack stands, the floor jacks and the tools.

If you get the parts I can give you a hand. I'm in Garland.

I think it's censoring it because of the Ram Talking forum.

HolyRamBatman, that would be greatly appreciated! My dad has a good wide knowledge of mechanics and stuff but this looks pretty hard with the press and all the stuff needed, we could throw in some cash too probably haha

Nope but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night....

:sorry: I couldn't help myself.

Yeah I have. Just did my upper and lower control arm bushings, springs, upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends. It's actually pretty simple just need the right tools.

Would it be easier to replace the bushing and joints or just the whole control arms? Because I think for the 4 control arms it's around the same price for all the bushings and joints needed

It will probably be about a month from now I'm guessing to put me in the situation financially where I could buy all the parts needed
