I have a 2019 RAM Warlock 1500 Classic. Does anyone know if it is possible to convert the USB-A to a USB-C connection in the center console armrest?

Want to utilize Android Auto without any adapters.

Additionally, has anyone discovered any "hidden" USB connectors under the dashboard?

Just make sure it is a good cable for data transfer, and don't always trust the title. All cables are fine for charging but not all will transfer data effectively. There are tests that can be run and I always look for one fully vetted to not have data transfer problems. Android Auto sends a lot of data, which is why we can't use Bluetooth to communicate from phone to radio. Not sure if wifi enabled radios now allow Android Auto to work over the air, been reading about it.

A couple things to remember:
you will never get high speed charging from a usb a to c cable or adapter. They just aren't capable.
Android auto and car play are fussy, they don't like over 6 ft of cable, you start getting random glitches, this includes hub to stereo cable length, so stick to about a 3 foot or shorter cable.

Those cable seem like an decent alternative. What I was looking to do is replace the socket it plugs into to a USB-C receptacle.

I was asking about "hidden" USB connections because my old Ford had a hidden USB connection under the glove compartment for "diagnostics", however, it worked great to connect a USB media player to it.

Not sure if anyone has had luck swapping hubs from newer vehicles with USB C without a radio swap, but last I saw there were fitment issues with most compatible options.

This video has some DYI information to how to convert an existing jack to USB C if you want to modify your existing hub. .

I understand how the wiring is different between USB-A and USB-C. I was hoping that I could just switch the USB module that is already there with a USB-C version.
