Convince me on getting a tuner

The Trinity comes with a monitor that displays your gauges and lets you record 0-60, 1/8th, and 1/4 mile times. It also works on just about every American made vehicle from 2000-up.

The i2 does not come with a monitor or record 0-60, 1/8th, or 1/4 mile times. It also only works on Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep vehicles. The plus side to this unit is that you can buy multiple licenses from Diablo that will allow you to tune more than 1 vehicle with the same tuner. Still has to be a Dodge, Chrysler, or Jeep, but this is a feature that is not offered with the Trinity.

Performance gains are identical between the 2 tuners, so no difference there.

At moes the pcm plus tuner is running $1099.00. Diablosport is selling the exact same deal for $999

That is because we also include the Hemifever custom tune. The custom tune is normally $125, so our package is actually $25 cheaper once you factor in the custom tuning.

Are the tuner options and power gains the same for a 2500 with the 5.7 as with the 1500s?

If you purchase the regular Diablo tuner, then it will just come with the preloaded Diablo tunes.

If you purchase the optional Hemifever Tune, then the install process is below:

Once you get the tuner, you will update it on your computer and then install 1 of the preloaded Diablo tunes on the truck. When you do this, it will save your stock tune file onto the tuner. You then email that stock tune file to Hemifever along with all your truck info (year, make, model, upgrades, gear ratio, available fuel octane, etc...) Once they receive this, they will then send you 2 custom tunes based on your mods. Save those from your email to the tuner, and then plug the tuner back into the truck. The transmission tuning will already be programmed int the custom tunes that they send you. Hemifever will also email loading instructions to you explaining how to do everything I just listed.

This post made me decide not to get a tuner because I was lost after "Once you get the tuner". I barely figured out how to make this post. I would never get through all that.:)

The stock PCM is locked up, so it will not accept tuning. The new PCM is simply a stock unit that has been unlocked so that it will accept a tune. The new pcm is not a performance pcm or anything like that, but it is necessary in order for you to be able to load any tune onto your truck.

silly question? does this delete that stupid eco crap mode? i cant stand that **** of a feature! ill be fine without it running if i want a gas saver ill go buy a 4 or 6 cyl! yes i like a little go go go! not going to do much since this is my daily driver, just looking to get rid of that eco crap!!! sorry it ****** me off when that comes on, if this deletes it and gives me a little go more feature I'm sold!

yes you can disable the MDS (Cylinder deactivation) permanently with it.

Thanks for info Matt, Intune-2 working great, noticeable improvement in low end thru out rpm band.
35 inch tires with 3.55 & 6-speed were lacking torque off the line.
Hemifever tune brought back the 33 inch tire feel plus.
Still would like 4.56 gears but seems like a big hassle for front differential.

PS: Don't forget to remove phone chargers or other non oem accessories.
Itune would hang on back up read. After 2 hours of trying to read, google supplied my answer. Wish Diablo had made a note of it.

No problem at all. For anyone that isnt racing and monitoring gauges all the time, the i2 is a great way to save a few dollars and still get all the performance gains of the tuner.

Bought the i2 thanks to this thread! Getting recall work done on Tuesday, so waiting on loading up one of the preloaded tunes.

I was amazed at the turn around speed of the Hemifever tune.
I loaded 93 octane canned tune, increased throttle response 20%, changed tire size to 34.7 & turned off MDS.
Took a test run for about 6 miles to make sure my son could drive to school next morning, noticeable improvement off idle torque.
Pulled back in driveway around 11:45 pm, emailed Hemifever stock backup at 12:17 am, woke up next morning & had a 93 & 89 octane-hf.drg tune by 6:31am. Did not have the time to install HM 93 tune until 9:00 pm later that day, was not expecting tune that quick.
My son & myself were both impressed with increased performance.
Moes was very quick on order process & shipment also!!!
Another satisfied customer here!

Thanks Matt, good advice on tuner!!!

Loaded the 93 canned tune on mine tonight and did a 30 mile loop around the city. The truck is actually FUN now. It'll push you back into your seat now.
