As the title states, I was off roading on Galveston tx yesterday (shot some awesome footage with the GoPro!) and my coolant over heated with the a/c on. I turned it off and the temps went back down! Is it my a/c compressor? Also my a/c makes a whistling sound too when it's running.

I am lost on what to do with out having to go to the dealer to pay to trouble shoot it.

What level is your coolant at (check under the yellow cap front left corner- NOT the silver rad cap)?

I could hear the water boiling after I turned it off. All I have is that big plastic fan. Where would the electric fan be?

It's under the big plastic fan shroud directly behind the radiator.

240 degrees when I turned it off

Hmm I don't think that electric fan is turning on.
