Correct Part# for OEM brake controller

It looks like the correct part number for the OEM brake controller for my 2013 Ram 1500 has been discontinued, 82213474, and has been replaced with 82213474AB. My concern is when I try to confirm this on the Mopar parts sites they only say that this new part # "May fit my vehicle". Can anyone confirm this? Are there any differences between the two part #'s, upgrades, etc? Thanks.

The last two letters of the part number is basically a revision change. You'll see the part numbers stay the same but the letters change, AB, AC, AD, etc.
The 82213474AB is listed as the brake controller for the '13-'14 model years with the 4 & 10 pin connectors under the dash.

One more question. I just received and installed my brake controller. I forgot to disconnect the battery before installing it but other than that everything went fine. I have an appt. tomorrow at my local Dodge dealer to get it flashed. My question is will not disconnecting the battery cause an issue with the flash? I didn't get a check engine light after installing like some other people did.
