Anyone out there try Kirkland Synthetic oil. It was tested against Mobil 1 and a few other oils and came out with some pretty good results. It also has 75 of Moly in it. Would this be a good oil to run with a bottle of Biolube or lube guard. I put a lot of miles on truck and at the price of $56 for 4 five quart bottles Seems like a good deal. I mix 5/20 and 5/30 and change every 4 or 5,000 miles with wix xp filter.

I have some on the way soon.....it was 27.99 for 12 quarts, then they were (accidentally) taking another 7.00 off on the Costco website, so $21+tax for 12 quarts. I ordered 2 cases so about 3 oil changes for the RAM.

If Im reading the PQIA test correctly, it has very good additives/levels. Most of the ones we call important are on-par or better than PUP.

pqia 5w30 kirkland

It's not only moly but high boron and super high viscosity index. It doesn't get much better then this for a shelf oil, the only possible ding is starting tbn is a tad lower then some oils like amsoil pr redline. IMO kirkland is one of the biggest pleasant surprises in the oil world 2020.

Oh it's the same oil, but not the same price, amazon 23 bucks 5 quart, kirkland 29 bucks for two 5 qrt, plus they have on sale all the time. Amazon won the walmart oils wars, but costco kicked amazons ass.

I rescind what I said about amazon beating walmart, they did win out on pricing of name brands for a while, but the super tech formula also looks similar to kirkland and a basics is also priced like costco, so I know ****. Anyhow, great news for the consumer when these three mega stores battle for oil supremacy.

The PQIA tests are close, but not exactly the same. Probably within margin of error.

but right now, Amazon is about 4.00/quart, vs the 1.75/qt for the Kirkland stuff after the pricing "error". Even without the error, its still 2.33/qt, far cheaper than Amazon.
