Out of curiosity, what does a 2019 to 24 factory Ram rear power sliding window cost? Not the replacement cost, the actual part cost. I was talking about this with a coworker today. He said they are like $900 and I told him they were about $1500. Does anyone actually know?

It’s hard to say what the actual cost is because none of the Mopar parts websites I checked list the complete rear power sliding window. Have you checked with the parts department at your local dealership?

I just put mine in the shop for the leaking rear window issue. I was quoted $1500 to repair it.

Truck is a ‘24 with 14K miles. But the dealer is advising the rear window is only covered for the first 12 months, 12K miles.

Anyone familiar with this rule? I’ll also contact Ram Cares and check.

Update. Dealer contacted me with better news. They put the claim through and Ram elected to cover $1400 of the $1500 window replacement. I will cover the remaining and taxes.

I still think the whole things should be still covered under the 3yr/36K initial warranty. But this is better than the original info he provided this morning.

The down side is, glass can’t be fixed until next Wednesday. Since they pulled it apart, to find the issue they asked could it stay there until it is repaired next week. Luckily we have other vehicles so I agreed to that.

Man I hope they at least cover it up, if it isn’t parked inside.

I had my rear window replaced last year because of the water issue. I own a 2014 2500 and the dealer cost installed was $1800. I would say that would probably be the ballpark cost plus or minus.

I understand the cost. But my truck is a ‘24 with 14K miles on it. Ram knows the rear window leak is an issue. Why is it not covered still under the original 3yr 36K warranty.

I have owned and driven Rams since 10/99. Honestly, this is my first bad experience with getting one serviced or having a warranty issue. I guess I have been fortunate, compared to some. But still annoyed that this is going to cost me anything out of pocket.

That's BS, I bought mine in Nov 2018 and the rear window had to be replace in June 2021 (the first time) and the warranty cover 100% of the cost.

I have a 2021 Ram 1500 that I believe has the cracked rear window frame. The crack allowed water into the frame and when we had a quick warm to cold cycle in the weather it shattered the glass around the frame. Dealer says that my vehicle isn't part of the extended warranty due to a issue with cracked window frames....20260107_083911.jpg20260107_083814.jpg20260107_083819.jpg

Seemed like a kind of silly thing till I had one. I really enjoyed driving with it open in the last of the good weather. A touch of magic in the view.

Around 2000 I worked at Topper King in Brandon (Tampa) Florida. The company carried a kit to make solid back windows become electric, "Vertical drop power rear window".
I couldn't find anything about the Ram though.

I'm sorry you're not receiving support from Stellantis.

This member from AZ said he paid just under $700 all in through Safelite.

My 23 had a drip in the upper right corner I discovered while washing it one day. Rather than screw with the dealer I found some rubber weatherstripping at Lowe’s that could be pressed into the cavity all across the top of the window and so far that has sealed it up fine. It’s a double tube weatherstrip that I cut down the center and then pressed down into the cavity across the top with a popcycle stick, out of view.
