Hello all, just figured I would post some simple things I did on the truck in the last week or so.
First is the light bar. I HATE the look of light bars, just personal preference, nothing more. I have Baja Designs Squadron Pro lights in place of the factory fogs on my 2nd Gen, and wanted more light output on the 2018. I didnt want to spend the coin on the factory fog replacements for the 4th gen from Baja Design, so I simply put a 22 inch light bar with Cree LEDs from one of my suppliers behind the bumper filler. It is mounted behind the top bumper mount bolts on some simple brackets I made.
I did not want to be running wires in the cab and mounting switches, so I decided to steal an idea from the web (I think even this forum) and use a RF transmitter, to control a relay to turn it on. I then programmed my #3 Homelink button to activate it. Works perfectly, and all factory inside. I made a small harness for the RF transmitter and relay (weatherpack style connector/relay from local supplier) It all fit and is secured perfectly in the cavity under the underhood fuse box. I even used the factory style harness tape so it blends in perfectly. OCD.

This is the RF relay I used, I chose it because it is a toggle design. Other models require two Homelink buttons (one for on, one for off) I use the other two for garage doors as well, so it was the obvious choice to me.
Other mod I did, was one I bought when I ordered the truck but just hadn't a chance to put it in. I've put in quite a few of these over the years for customers. All of my family members have one as well. One downside, is now there are two fobs together in my pocket.
Anyone interested in a remote starter owes it to themselves to research this company's products. On the RAM trucks, install is literally 15 minutes including neatly tidying up the harness. Harness I'm talking about is a "T" harness for various makes and models that are available. No splicing/soldering/hacking up factory wiring harnesses. Definite plus in my books. It does require a local person (or buy yourself) with a programming module to flash the firmware options/model of vehicle from their website.

Apologies on poor light bar picture.
