I was out today installing wheel well liners on my truck and I noticed my drivers side front rim has a dent in it. Not sure how it happened, or how it could have possibly happened. Take a look and let me know what you think might have occurred.

Almost looks like a bullet hit it! lol
Is it a chrome clad wheel? It looks like one to me.
Possible something hot laid on it or some kid with a magnifying glass????

Looks like an impact from some metal road debris, possibly an extension or wrench, maybe a screwdriver or something similar in shape & size.

I was thinking that was a possibility, just dont recall hitting anything. Guess it's time for a new rim. I found a company that sells like new take offs, gonna give them a try.

Wow that’s bad, looks like something big hit it. I have that same chrome rim too.

I buy and sell RAM wheels. I get them like this at times. AS long as it did not damage the actual rim you are fine. It is just cosmetic damage. I always check the inside of the wheels I get for cracks or anything abnormal. I do not have any for yours though. But a new wheelskin would be a cheaper way out than a new wheel. They are just taped on and would be best to be heated.

Thanks for the info. I had no idea what a chrome clad wheel was, I do now. I am going to try and repair the dent by pushing it out from behind the wheel. Apply some filler , possibly JB Weld, sand it off and cover with chrome spray paint. If my repair looks too bad I'll get a used rim, then replace everything (with real wheels) when it is time for new tires.

Does anyone else ever drive the vehicle? Could've happened then.

In my area, we have a load of Used Tire shops
They sell used tires, but most of them are recaps & brand new no name tires & of course 2nds, ( Blems )

They also hit up the wrecking yards & grab up the rims that have tires on them.
When they get a truck load of them, they break the tires off the rims & sell them separately
