The truck ('17 SLT) will go in next week to get dyno tuned for the new cam

I'd like the dash to display the current gear when I'm in drive, I know I can't do that with alphaOBD, but could my tuner do with with HP?

Put the truck in 8th gear is the only way I've seen the gears shift.

I'm not sure it's possible with the truck Instrument cluster. I know other models can do it but hopefully someone has an answer

Can't be done on a 2017. The only way is an aftermarket gauge like a edge CTS, ezlynk auto agent app, or some other app on a phone that can read PIDs.
