Ive been thinking about taking some pipe and perhaps a nice flowmaster and routing out the side of my truck in front of the rear wheel, does anyone have any knowledge of the best way to do this?

just for reference, truck has the 5.7 hemi with the single exhaust, not the duals

I have the 50 series American Thunder with duals & it's a nice growl without too much cab drone.
The Outlaw is a lot louder.

I just got a quote on converting to true duals from a single exhaust and its gonna be 750 from the local exhaust shop. I can't imagine yours would be more. I am going to have them cut in right after the cats and run two 3" pipes with two carven progressive mufflers (carven tr). I've listened to way too many sound clips for the hemi exhaust and I think that's the sound closest to what I was looking for and it reports almost no drone. I have my exhaust being installed at the end of February and I'll report back.

Maybe look on Gibson exhaust's site, get some ideas from some of their kits. I know they had a lot of kits for trucks that exited in front of the rear tires, kinda like the Ford Lightnings did. Ford used Borla for those trucks, maybe look on Borla's site too and look up some of the different kits they have for trucks. Get a few ideas of what you'd like from them.

Id be sticking with the single exhaust, probably slapping a flowmaster 40 series on, then routing it out the side, im gonna try and get some measurements to see what id need exactly today

Yea i was looking online, there are some options for 3rd gens that come out in front of the rear wheel, not much for 4th gens though. And since i really wouldnt need much pipe to do this, i almost cant justify dropping 6-700 dollars on something i could probably cobble together for less than 300

I just had mine converted from single exhaust to dual with a 40 series Flowmaster. Mine is ran out the back, but the total cost walking out the door was $334.50. That included parts (Flowmaster 40 series, pipes and 3 1/2" tips) and labor. The 40 sounds great, but kind of wish I went with the super 40 though.

Don't know where you guys live but I live in the rust belt. Do NOT remove the factory exhaust unless you replace it with STAINLESS steel exhaust. I installed a MOPAR low restriction exhaust on my last truck and had to replace it in less than 3 years because it rusted out. The are several companies that sell the stainless steel. Spend the extra money and buy it. Don't waste your money on alumized unless you live some place warm and dry.
