Us 2nd gen owners know the headaches of our fragile dash boards. My first, a 97, was being held together mostly by tape and wooden strips when I bought it. I was fortunate enough to find my current, an 01, which has a crack free dash.

I would like to keep it this way.
Has anyone found a way to keep them in one piece? Covers, sun shades, applicable protectants? My current thought is to buy a dash cap and install it over the dash as a way to reinforce it.

I am also considering an interior refresh, like leather/vinyl wrapping, if anyone has input on that.

Look forward to hearing other's opinions/ideas!

I purchased a "Dashmat" for my 95 when it was new. There was no mention of dash issues when the 2nd gens came out. I just wanted something on my dash to protect it. I sold the truck a few years ago, and the dash still looks new under the Dashmat. I have one in my current truck as well.
