Hi all,

I searched for a DIY on dashboard removal but didn't find anything. Can someone share a link on how to do this? I did watch a guy's video --- seems like a tedious job --- but some parts were somewhat glossed over.

Thanks for any help you can share,

Jay

I am in the middle of doing mine.

In fact just got it out last night!
I watched the lmc truck (top) dash replacement video. He glossed over a lot as I recall.
I also read my chiltons manual. Also I gave the Service manual for my truck- which you can probably find for your truck on the forum.
I took my time, marked everything...
It remains to be seen if I can get it all back together.
If I can find some videos I watched I’ll link to the here.

My Haynes manual had the instructions when I replaced the upper dash pad on my 2001.

Pulled the hvac assy to put in all new vent doors and actuators. I just hadn’t heater core and exchanger replaced last year- not by me - which is one reason I had to replace my entire dash...

Almost done with hvac - will close it up tomorrow. Waiting on a few cans of paint to finish up the dash painting.

A good thing to search re dash removal is something like “heater core replace” or vent door replace. Sometimes they show a detail of the dashboard removal.

My Chilton’s has a pretty good description .

Got the “new” dash on the metal frame tonight[emoji51].
“New” dash cracked in a few places.
Got the vent assembly installed on the upper dash.
Tomorrow they’ll go together. Sunday back in the truck!... I hope!

If i had to fix my Climate Control unit itself, which means pulling the box out of the Ram.
I would replace the Condenser & the heater & for the blend & mode doors inside of it, i would use this brand

New stereo equipment to get here sometime today. Nothing extravagant, just a vast improvement over 20 year tech. New speakers, amp, and head unit And corresponding wiring.

Heater core, evaporator, doors, blower motor. Son is a little ocd on this stuff. He has experienced most of the typical , if not all, ram issues that strikes our trucks. If he ain’t broke it at least once, he ain’t had it more than a week.LOL! Funny, nothing fazes him except stereos.....go figure. This makes his 5th Ram in his 23 years.

These last 2 are only 2 in his stable, at the moment. Well, except for the dirt bikes, rc cars, rc trucks, rc hellicopter.
