I've seen threads in other sections on this, but my concern is...due to the age of my truck, is it more likely that if I do go ahead and debadge it, is it more likely to leave a 'ghost' outline? I know on the newer trucks it's easily removed with goo gone and such, but I'm just afraid of sue to how old it is that the paint may be permanently lighter under the badges?

There would most likely be ghosting but with time and some waxings it will go away

Yeah even mine had a little ghosting, what about a good buffering? Would that help remove them?

I think buffing would take it out also. The paint under the badges has been protected from the elements. I would have the truck buffed out after removing the badges.

Yeah I want to buff mine sometime this week before school starts and see if that works since you can still tell I removed my badges pretty recently

Well....got the badges off! Once my hands recover, I'll be out ther with the Goo Gone to try and get rid of some of the ghosting. I'll get pics after! :)

I personally have heard bad stories of goo gone on clear coats. I advise either heat or WD40 followed by a good wash with dish soap.

As for the ghost emblems, like everyone else said, Buff it!

Remember: the compound does the work, not you pushing on it!
