Was at the dealership last Friday (where I purchased my new 1500 Laramie) to deal with a dealer installed tint issue and microphone/blue tooth issue.

I left the vehicle and returned the next day. I was so consumed with the tint issue and the hands-free phone connection that I missed the clear door edge guards that were installed. Now-- I don't know how i missed them, but I did. I've made an appointment for tomorrow to have them removed.

My question.....what should i be on the look out for when the dealership removes said door edge guards-- is the adhesive really sticky etc. I have some concern about the removal given the crap, thin, water based paints used on today's vehicles.

Quick fact-- the install of the guards occurred on a dirty vehicle. The lazy POS just stuck the guards on and trapped all kinds of gunk underneath them.

I can't offer any explanations why they were put on-- my sales guy and my service guy said it was an error and the memo I created for the service appointment wasn't passed along to all parties.

Thanks

Mike

If they don't "clean" the door edges correctly you can take some 3M Adhesive remover and it should take any adhesive left by the dealership. I installed some door edge protectors made out of some 3M clear bra material and I have found that it sure helps protect the door edges from any chips.
