Dealer oil change intervals

SO i have been getting my oil changed at my local dealer, I'm just wondering if the oil they use is the oil i should be using! it seams like no sooner than i do an oil change the oil service message comes up on my dash. mow say i wanted to make a long trip say 1300miles and i didn't get the oil change done before i leave , could i do more harm than good? mines a 2010 hemi , I'm also getting what i think is the Hemi tic, at a certain rpm normally at around 70mph i hear a ticking or tapping sound that sounds like its coming from the middle of the hood but close to the window.
When i took it to the dealer they found a cracked manifold bolt which they said is very common so they said it was an exhaust leak i was hearing which made sense , they fixed it under warranty and on a drive out i heard the same noise, i took it back and the mechanic drove it for 15 miles and said he could not hear it..

Just reset the computer when it does that. Put the key in final position right before the truck starts, then turn to off position, press gas pedal 3 times, and then restart the truck. Read the synthetic oil thread, some good info in there. But just as important, if you want to extend the drain interval, you need to run a filter like Royal Purple because it is synthetic and not paper. If you choose an oil after reading that thread, if you stay loyal to that oil, you can start testing it to see how long you can extend your oil change interval buy getting the oil analyzed. 5k oil chnage intervals you can get with any oil, 10k+ you can get with most high quality synthetics, true synthetics like Amsoil SS and Redline you can get near 15k to 25k, but you really need to send in for an analysis if you want these long drains.
