Clay mitt followed by Malco Cherry Flash wax works great for me on my dark Ram.......The clay mitt removes(with a good clay bar lube...i like Adams clay bar lube) surface contamination. Malco are the same products that many body shops use.........

Easy, just take truck back tell them the scratches weren't there before. They need to fix. The fact dealer doesn't have proper techs or equipment is kinda BS. The will sub out work to someone else if they can't handle it. Just verify it's fixed when picked up.

My 2020 1500 just had a paint correction done last week, i picked it up from the dealer yesterday and they decided to give it a complimentary wash... WITH A DAMN BRUSH! This was explained multiple times to the service advisor that the truck had just had a paint correction and to please be careful around the body panels so I am trying to get them to pay.

All of that aside I'm just wondering if i should wait or if I can have another paint correction done right away? The truck is black so there are super noticeable swirl marks and scratches everywhere now.
What kind of brush?

Horse hair, nylon, or wire?

Regards,
Dusty

I went through this back in 2011 when I bought my first brand new car (2012 Subaru WRX). Tons of swirl marks on a brand new car after they detailed it while we were doing the paperwork. Ever since then I make sure there will be no complimentary car wash for any dealership visit.

Drive-thru car washes are called "Tunnels of Destruction" for good reason.

It's OK if they R laser/brushless. But no brushes, no silly nylon wateva junk hanging down and hitting truck, OH no, touchless only.

Kind of on topic, I have a old Toyota van, blue, that I drive to work because the spaces are sized for skateboards. I haven't washed it since January and it looks better than the black SUVs around it. Black is a great color but takes a bit more care.

The other side of the coin:
This is from U Tube recently. I will admit that this is my go-to detailer, and I have been using him for over 10 years. He is one of the most knowledgeable detailers I have ever done business with.

Never use a brush to wash any vehicle. The scratches might not show on a lighter colored vehicle but they will be there. My step-son bought a black 2010 Mustang GT. Paint had been wet sanded and buffed and was beautiful. He bought a brand new brush and when he was done the whole entire car had swirl marks and light scratches all through it. We did a quick buffing on it to get about 90% of them out but will be going over the whole car again this winter to get it 100%. I have a black 2005 Roush Mustang that I did the paint correction on and ceramic coated myself. I don't even dry it with a towel. Blow dry only. I also just paint-corrected and ceramic coated my truck last week. I wasn't picky enough on my 7 year old truck to get every last defect out of it but still compounded and polished.
To the OP, you can have paint correction done right away. No need to wait.

There are NO scratches, not even micro scratches. Hard to believe but it's true!
