It wasn't messing up paint, the support cable wasn't clearing the piston so it rubbed and would bind. The new 4th gen model is ok from what peeps are reporting.

There is a clip you have to put on the cable so it doesn't bind
Also you have to take off the limiter on the bottom of the cable

I want one too, BUT after reading all the good and bad, think i will pass.
If it is tearing up the paint, I THINK NOT... will keep following this post to see more veiws on this

Just get the 2013 F-150 version with the drop bracket... it's flawless.

(Like I mentioned in a previous post) I got my DEEZEE DZ4330 direct from DEEZEE. It s aQUICK, SIMPLE installation EXCEPT for that %#$*@^ nutserk. I followed their printed instructions and watched the video MANY times. When I installed the nutserk, it felt FIRM. After showing a few of my friends how it worked, it had loosened up and I had a DEVIL of a time getting it out. I contacted their tech support and they graciously sent me another installation kit complete with the WRONG wrench and they SUGGESTED I go ahead and hold the screww with the allen wrench and turn the tightening nut with the other wrence and turn it "until it gets snug.." I THOUGHT that is what I done the FIRST TIME. I am ALMOST AFRAID to ruin another nutserk.. Maybe I can find soime someplace to have on hand for IF it comes loose again.. BUT.... other than the issue I have had with the nutserk, I LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE ABOUT THE SYSTEM. NO BINDING UP... NO CLEARANCE ISSUES and it WAS rather simple and quick to install OTHER THAN THAT DOGGONE NUTSERK..

Follow up...

I TRIED installing the new nutserk DEEZEE sent me and had the SAME, EXACT RESULTS.:jawdrop: What was happening was the nutsert itself was TURNING inside the tailgate hole thus NOT expanding like it was supposed to. :mad:I called DEEZEE and I talked with Dave.. He offered a couple suggestions but it did NOT work out.. I ended up running the bolt COMPLETELY through the end of the nutserk and I put another nut on the backside and started twisting and FINALLY tightening it up.. IT WORKED... :licklips:AFTER expanding my vocabulary of "4 letter words":jawdrop: I FINALLY got it to snug up and it is now WORKING PERFECTLY..:winner_first_h4h: OTHER than that nutsert device.. it was a FAST, SIMPLE install but I think the nutsert could be engineered differently. I DO RECOMMEND this install kit and it works GREAT NOW..:party36:
