I couldn't find any info on if there is any filter media inside a BT/DS can>??

The BT I got came with some steel wool type stuff in the top portion of it. Not sure if that's what you're looking for or not. I don't think it's a filter, but more of a way to keep the oil from spraying into the pool once it starts collecting.

Actually, that's exactly what I was looking for. BT should do a more thorough job letting people know that. It's more to help wick oil vapor out of air going through the PVC line than to help with splashing if I understand it correctly.

You're probably right. I never researched it much. I should rephrase my description a bit, though. It's not really like steel wool. The strands are much wider than steel wool. It's like little thin bands of metal.
