I've been wanting to get a tuner for like a year now, and I finally got it. Installed just the 87 tune and it's Amazing! It pulls super hard especially rolling at low speeds. Turned off MDS, and changed the tire size since I got some 285/50/20's and the speedo was about 5 miles off. I'm just a little concerned about the transmission, I won't blow the transmission with all the fun I'm having!? lol

As long as you stay away from wot down shifts. Down shifting into 2nd and 4th is where the weak link in our trannys is. It can't hold the power and will start to slip. I've had 2nd gear rebuilt in mine. Luckily it was under warranty.

Ok I'll stay away from hard downshifts. Is there a huge difference from the 87 to 93 tune?

Experience the programmer functions yourself since you waited so long to get one. Agree to Avoid 2p down shifts, and going into od when going wot

Go play. You won't hurt anything unless you try to shift under WOT or try to downshift too soon. That can cause some torque shock to the transmission and the second gear sprag seems vulnerable to this.

Not too many folks I know saw a huge improvement with the tune but if you can get one, try a 91 octane tune.

Yeahh I'm going to wait to go thru the whole tank of 89 octane. And fill up with 93 and change the tune to see if it does make a big difference. Right now it's set to shift at 5900 rpm at wot. Is that okay or too high?

Look at your engine specs...if you make the most HP at 5200 I'd back off the shift points to right around 5200. You've already reached the HP peak, anything above it is just a waste of time and fuel.

I run the 91 tune with 93 fuel. My truck seems to run better with the higher octane. The rpms jumped around at idle with the 93 tune.

Thanks for the info! I'm gonna ask probably a stupid question lol. But whenever I fill up with 93. And want to switch to the higher tune, do I need to take out the 87 tune then install the 91 tune? Or will it automatically delete the 87 and put 91??

WOT shifts around the 6100 mark give better shift recovery..... Mess with things all you want. DO NOT TOUCH THE SPARK OR FUEL TRIMS. If you mess with the part throttle shifts don't go to the extremes and make sure they make sense. Personally, since you can, get a custom tune for the trans and enjoy.

In the earlier predator croms[firmware versions] it had the option to turn off rear O2's but it has been gone for a while, they can still be turned off with custom tunes.

Tunes do not adjust automatically, if change octane then you should change the tune. You won't do harm if you run 87 tune with 93 octane, but I don't recommend running 91 or 93 tune with 87 octane gas.

Ok but like to change to the 93 tune. Do I have to return to stock then install 93?

No you can just plug it in again and swap tunes. Just keep the octane the same or higher than the tune requires.

Jtoscan019 are your running non foulers for the read o2's? If not and you do not want to spend the $$$ on a CMR try those. I am running no cats and they rear o2's are tricked into reading correct through my CMR tune done on the dyno.

No I'm not running the non foulers..I'm gonna have to try that and see if it'll stop throwing the codes. One time I did buy the non foulers but the o2 sensor wouldn't fit in one, so I have to stack 2 non foulers and drill to open it up so the senor would fit. If that makes any sense haha.
