Hello all!

I’ve been searching with no luck (even the dealership ) to find an answer on a body wiring diagram for bed cargo lights. This would be for a 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie vin#
1C6RREJT1NN291760. Just need to know if pigtails are already installed for plug in play (know about the dealership flash) or if I need the complete wiring harness. Thanks in advance for any help.

The parts department at any dealership should have all that info.
I get printed copies for my '21 from the parts guys at mine, without any grief.

Sorry, I know where the older truck service manuals exist, but nothing that new.
Plus, there seem to be so many variations these days.

I would call the parts department at local dealerships.

And, welcome to Ram Forum.

don't you have lights back there now? Why not just tap into one of those and run a string of LED lights around the box? They don't draw many amps.

What if you want the bed lights on without the tail-lights lit?

Isn't there a constant 12VDC at the hitch lights connection?

My truck's bed has two led bed lights, one left and one right. The left has the on/off button. I just plan on tapping into the switch and running the led "neon" type lights under the bed frame all the way around.

If you don't have OEM bed lights, maybe just tap into the trailer wiring (one i believe is always hot...then simply put a switch in the bed as you run whatever lights you want. The trailer wire that is always hot is usually connected to a trailer battery, so, no need to worry about the amps led lights will draw.

also, you never mentioned in the OP if you have existing bed lights. I gave you two options

LOL, I quoted you in the post above because my tired and delirious brain read something else in your post that was all in my head. So much for multitasking.

I put bed lights in both of my last 2 Rams.I mounted a small rocker switch in the upper corner of the box, where the tailgate closes, and just ran a 12 volt feed from the battery under the truck, and up the inside of the box rail at the back. As soon as i dropped the tailgate the switch was right there easily accessed.I'm not much on tapping into the factory wiring if i don't have to,i'd rather run a seperate feed, and leave the factory wiring alone

i like that idea of a switch that the tailgate energizes....i might look into that. So, something like the push switch on the doors?

Dealerships don’t keep records like that. You can order a truck that supposed to get something and it may be missed in the build process. Most of the 5th gen’s do have the prewired harness in place but there is no definitive answer. I just went through this with a Ford with a truck that was supposed to have cab lights. I truly wish the vin # had the information of exactly what’s what.

Good lord. Based on all these responses to the actual question, I can see why the OP joined, asked this question, and vanished after a few responses and most likely won’t be heard from again…
He was only here long enough to read the first 4 responses.
Where in hell were you to help answer the question, and what is the correct answer?
You're supposed to be one of the wiring guru's on here,so please elaborate on what the OP should be doing

The pigtails are not present. Just use the mopar bed light kit 82215272AD, and have dealer activate them, or use alfaobd/JScan to activate them.

That's it?

That's definitely the easiest and cleanest method, but I'm certain there are many more cost-effective solutions for anyone capable of a DIY.

My truck budget is limited to DIY upgrades, for the most part.

I thought that the best answer to the OP question,

would be a readable wiring diagram, that shows the wiring that comes on every
2022 Ram 1500 Laramie

That would the MAIN wiring harness & every wiring pigtail that is available for Laramie's.

The problem there is, unless you want to purchase the Mopar CD or a subscription, from a company similar to ALLDATA ...
Stellantis has removed any Online material that is available for the average shade tree mechanic.
There are some ppl on the forums, that grabbed everything that they thought as being relevant, back when FCA was in charge.

For instance, the wiring diagrams were available back when FCA published the RAM Body Builders Guide.

One of the first things that the butthead that was just fired did, was to have the BodyBuilders Guide removed

this used to be readily available for FREE

The wiring schematics are not trim specific, they show all possible wiring, and don’t reveal what connections are present or not on different trim levels.

So the Basic Wiring is on the Tradesman
& everything else is wiring add ons, also known to me as PigTails & Modules ?
like the 115 vac module, that is mounted on the passenger Seat Frame
