Does anyone know if you can buy the cargo camera (third brake light) and if it is plug and play? I know I would need to go back to the dealer to reflash the system. Thanks in advance.

I see your riding a 5th Gen 2500? I believe that the same Cab as a 4th Gen, whether you go with the older style i.e. Red unit with 2 white cargo light with CHMSL Lens cover mostly 3rd party (RAM Made one too just can't find the PN) but you'll need a cargo cam too (Cargo CAM PN:68170934AI) or the Fancy Full LED "High Mount" (PN:68412027AB $600+) either way you need a custom harness made for your Trim and Radio - Check the 4th Gen Audio Electronics Sections for DIY write ups it has been done more than once by members

Was that an option for the 1500 (5th gen)?

First I have ever heard of a "cargo cam". Is this even an option from Ram?

Yes it's been an option on the 4th gen 2500/3500 trucks for quite a while. It was never an option on the 4th gen 1500 trucks but many people including myself have installed them. It's an option on the 5th gen 2500/3500 trucks as well plus I'm pretty sure it's an option on the 5th gen 1500. There is more to installing it besides just plugging it in. You will need to purchase a conversion harness from KaodTech.com and enable the correct codes with the Alfa tool.
