Had to jump start it but when I took my foot off the accelerator it dies again. If I keep it going by accelerator for 2 minutes then letting off accelerator it will run for awhile. If I try and restart it has zero juice and needs to be jump started, charger says it is fine. Added water to 6 battery holes since they were lower than halfway. Could it be needing new battery or is it something else?

Reset computer by disconnecting negative cable. I don't know about your battery

Measure the battery voltage - before starting, while running, after running.
That will tell you all you need to know.

If you don't have a voltmeter, they are dirt cheap or I bet someone you know has one.

Found the problem, it was the battery starting to die out. Many thanks for the help all of you. Thanks a million, you've once again saved my bacon.

Glad you found it.

The reason I saidto measure the 3 times was to make sure it was charging and holding a charge.

So if say it was just under 12V before starting, but over 13 V running then chances are your charging system is ok.
And a good battery would hold the 13V running voltage for a while after shutting off but might fall slowly - esp. if you have a hood light.
If it dropped back below 12v right after shutoff that would indicate either a really discharged battery - depending on how long it was running - or a bad cell in the battery.
