Hi Guys,
I’m wondering if there is any difference between 1500 and 2500 steering in the 2001 4x4? I’m wanting to do the T-style steering conversion with the Mopar parts from 2009+. I see lots of people have said it’s a direct bolt on for their 2500s, but nothing on 1500. If there is any difference, what is it? I’ve done a lot of searching, and everything I find is just about the Diesels.

2500+ steering hasn't changed in years from what I understand. Still using a drag link setup. The 1500's have been changed many times over. Probably why you won't find anything matching for the 1500's.

I’m talking about a 2001 though. The best evidence that I can find is that the original style replacement part numbers from Moog are the same for both of them. I feel like that clearly says they must be the same designs, but then everywhere else I see people saying the parts fit 2nd gen 2500 and 3500 with no mention of 1500.

In case anyone ever looks at this thread wondering the same thing, I spoke with Don Thuren, and he said the steering is the same. Said that the 4th gen steering upgrade works for the 2000-2001 1500. I’ve got the kit in order. Found it for $300!
