Display capable of multiple cameras ??

Just purchased a 2017 Tradesman 3500 with the base 3.0 radio and rear view camera display in the mirror. Would to to upgrade to either a 5.0 or 8.4 touch screen that would allow 2 or 3 different camera feeds (one at a time) and not use the mirror. Would this have to be a specific serial # or version? Would it have to be a 2017 model year? Could any unit be updated and unlocked for these features? Have not found any help at the dealer level. Steve

I believe its would need to either be lock-picked or straight-up exchanged to an aftermarket head unit with those capabilities. I think though that having the 3.0 is a much better starting point for installing an aftermarket head unit than starting with the 8.4.

The 2016 and 2017 8.4 radios are capable of handling both a backup and cargo cam if the truck is configured for the cargo cam option. I'm not sure if it's an option code the dealer can flash, but the OBDGenie can do it.

If you're looking for 3 cameras or want things like a front camera that comes on when you're parking and clever stuff like that, you'll need the RAX Jailbreak or a LockPick.

Or, like sbarron mentioned, you can just go aftermarket.

I have the 8.4 with the LockPick and have 4 cameras... could add a 5th as well if I wanted to.
