Diving into the world of RAM..noob

Well, you will get differences of opinion im sure but i dont like it when it kicks in and havent seen any appreciable mpg gains. But then i dont drive low n slow either, more like so i can appreciate the hemi...lol

I haven’t put a ton of miles down yet, but I don’t have a light foot either. I’m averaging about 17 mpg give or take a bit, are you anywhere close to that with the manual selection method?

I turn my MDS off until the vehicle warms up.....usually right when the thermostat opens.

I have a hard time finding the ultra platinum around here. I bought the pure plus platinum that I’m going to put in it sometime this week. I heard that dodge and ram come with Pennzoil from the factory, so I figured I would give it a shot. Do you like running the Pennzoil then?

Ya, 16-17 ish. City driving 15 and freeway 17-18. Most times i leave it off but occasionally on freeways i will turn it on for steady long drives. Im in alot of traffic most times though so leave it on 8. I now have 26k miles...i drive alot

That makes sense, since the oil weight seems to be specific due to the MDS system itself.

Thanks for the info! I’m not much for online shopping, but looks like I’m going to have to start. Specific oil, and all the things I want to mod on this truck means it’s probably the only way it gets done.
