Has anyone used one of the bed liner kits for our trucks (herculiner, rustoleum etc) and if so how did you like it? Good results? Ease of installation?
I did Herculiner on my '01 Ram 12 years ago. Unless the prduct changed, it sucked and turned out like ****. The particles that are supposed to add texture would sink to the bottom of the roller pan in a couple of minutes, meaning you'd have to stir it between every time you roll the brush into the pan. It started peeling about 2 months after it was installed.
Used a D/A grinder and ground it out and had a friend at a body shop do a cheap spray-in that they offered for $175 and it turned out like factory quality.
DO NOT USE THIS CRAP! I've used every bedliner probably known to man.
The spraycan / roll on ones are the absolute worst. I've done many of the spray on ones with a gun and have every good results, SEM Bedliner, Raptor, Upol etc..
That looks really good. I'm gonna call around to some local places and see how much it'd cost me. I am limited on tools and having somewhere to do it that works very well.
I'd definitely have it professionally done. I did a roll-on kit on my 2013...turned out like crap. I'd pay a shop to professionally do it if I had to do it again.
I used Herculiner. Been good for me so far. Have to put in the good prep work though. I went this route for the experience just to use it....that and my ram is 5 years old. If it was newer, I probably woulda had it done professionally.
Upol raptorliner. Did mine a year ago. Been great. Done many others also. Done golf cart roofs, rocker panels. Always works great. All in prep work. I took da sander and sanded whole inside of my bed. Then scotchbrite the whole thing. To make sure I didn't miss anything. Used adhesion promoter in hard to reach areas. Was a lot of work. But only ended up spending 250$. The kits come with 4 cans. That's a little thin. I bought 2 kits. Ended up using 6 cans. If you pay someone. LineX is by far the best. But your gonna pay for it.
Check out monstaliner. I used that on the inside of my Jeep and it's excellent ****! You'll need to prep well as mentioned above but it's well worth it
