2016 5.0 radio. My steering wheel controls are phone call related, power steering and to be able to control the information between the gauges..

The 5.0 radio itself has the options to turn on head lights with wipers and hill start

I'm asking because most aftermarket radios seem to look put of place or are way too expensive.. I saw the alpine ILX-F259 and even tho its expensive it may look good since it's not trying to fit in the factory spot. And this unit says it's not compatible with maestro.. theirs a 309 but I dont even want to spend the coin on this lol.. I want android auto and to add a backup camera

Thanks!

As long as you won't need to make any changes that are through the radio then no you don't need maestro. If the unit you are looking at is maestro compatible then you can always add it later

Thanks for the reply the radio isnt compatible with maestro, I guess theirs an input needed that isnt there.. the only options I can think of that my radio itself does have are the hill start and lights on with wipers. Do you know what will happen with these settings? And also if I had a maestro would it allow me to still control them? Thanks I'm a 5 year old when it comes to this stuff!

Nothing will happen if you replace the radio. They will remain on whatever setting you have selected

With a radio that is compatible with maestro you'll still have access to all the factory settings plus some that are in the cluster. You'll have the ability to have gauges on your radio.

But it's something that you can add in later if you get a compatible radio.
