Just venting here a little bit. I love my truck I only had it for a little bit but I really take as much care of it as many of you guys do. My friends always make fun of me bc I dont drive like an ass, dont speed a whole lot, NEVER hit bumps when possible, dont brake really hard, maintenice all the time (fluid changes, cleaning etc).
My one friend who has his f150 4x4 just speeds rights through this extreamly bumpy dirt road one time and I yelled at him for it haha. He was like "but its a 4x4" I was like that has nothing to do with breaking an axel lol. Anyway I get crap from a lot of people and my truck is a 2500 as well but I want to keep it a very long time.

My grandfather started making me drive when I was 11 years old ( he lives in a small town in upstate NY so I was on the actual roads when I was 11) And he always stressed to me all of the things I do. In fact on his 2002 youkon he had original tires on it for the first 80k miles and probly could have kept them on longer. So whenever I drive any of the trucks we have in the family thats how I treat them.

Just wondering who here does the same or just beats it up because its a truck. Yea I may overdue it sometimes but when I do need to beat it up a little I know it wont be weakend at all from doin it a lot from before.

Don't sweat it man. It's your money not theirs. If you take care of your stuff, from vehicles to your home it'll last a lot longer and save you money in the long run. Sure it's 4x4 but it's not a Baha suspension set up with bullet proof parts. Let him beat his Ferd and you'll be there with the Ram and a tow strap when he calls. haha

i drive at or 5 over the limit so not to sure if that is considered "babying their truck" but im prob a slow poke. prob' good for my tranny though.

Admit the truck has not been detailed for a while but she runs clean.

I do the maintenance on time. I use quality parts and lubes. I drive over the speed limit and accelerate hard. I tow a lot and use it as a truck. I warm it up for 20 minutes to drive it to work a mile away then shut it off and do it again to go home. I won't say I baby it but I don't try to break it either. I expect it TO work I expect it to DO work I think most of us could say that. I live in cold north so it gets salt and crap all over and not washed enough.

I get on mine when racing at the tracks, other then that just 5 over the speed limit and try to keep it under 2K in town for the most part.

I used my truck pretty rough for the first few months that I owned it.. But then I started throwing a lot of money into it so now i treat it like royalty.

It's sitting in a heated garage with a cover over it right now.. So it's not exposed to the winter elements :D (I'm working in NY/PA right now) As you can see it is more than capable to handle everything I throw at it but it is a pavement queen

Mine is a payment princess and always will be for the most part. Sure ill take it to the ranch, but once there, she sits and I use the 4wheeler to get around.

I'm very ****...i don't drive it on dirt roads, and don't abuse it. I will drive it...but take really good care of it.
15 months, just at 8000 miles, wash it 1-2 times a week.

Rid Hard and Put away Wet, Most of the Time (Only up to and slightly past the Speed Limit). No reason why she won't last another 10 Years.

Mine will be driven 98% of the time on the highway at speeds of 65+. I am the guy that dodges (forgive the pun) man hole covers and potholes. I treat nothing without the utmost respect. My thoughts are; the better you treat it, the better it'll treat you.

My truck is really comfortable to drive and to be honest I love the sound of the cummins diesel and the exhaust brake. Because its so much fun to drive I prefer to take my time and enjoy it. Back when I was driving in my hummers I used to drive them nice and slow because I loved the sound of a Detroit diesel :) maybe I just like the sound of a diesel and the only way I can enjoy it is with a nice drive :)

i wouldnt worry bout what your buddies say. my army buddies say the samething to me cause im pretty ocd when it comes to my truck. wash, vaccum and detail the truck every weekend(unless goin somewhere). i dont fly down dirt roads and avoid pot holes and speed bumps when possible. i do hit the trails and all, as soon as im off of them though it gets washed thoroughly. in the end its your truck. treat it and enjoy it how you want regardless of what anyone else says
