This is a 2021 Ram 2500 picture under drivers dash above the parking break . The truck has a rebuilt title and I'm finding little issues with it. My 12" uconnect radio keeps going out and after getting the run around from the dealership I decided to just work it myself. I've noticed that if I mess with the wiring in this area it will come back on. When I started digging in, I found this copper piece of metal hanging above the parking break. If you look closely at this picture you can see a Grey receptacle above the copper piece and a white plug below it. They don't seem long enough to reach each other and without any wiring diagram I'm not sure what they even belong too. Anyway, I'm just curious now what this copper piece is for since it's attached to a black wire and plug. Any ideas? Thanks.

Was this truck in a flood, I see allot of corrosion under there and that copper looks like to insides of a switch, I would clean up that mess for starters.

No flood damage, i think it sat for awhile while it went to auction and got rebuilt. It's been a great truck and for half the price for a new one, I can't complain. Just trying to work a few bugs out. Thanks

Maybe the contact for the parking brake switch? Is that wire that looks like it's connected Green\White?

Good guess? OP, when U engage the parking brake, does the "brake" light/word illuminate on the dashboard? If it does not come on when E brake depressed, might want to look for the switch that should be there ref the E brake. I cannot look at mine to help as mine is a 19 5th Gen with electronic brake.
