Does anyone use a catch can on their Hemi?

They keep the oil out of the intake. I didn’t have one for a long time. I just bought one 2 oil changes ago. I just emptied it after 2 oil changes and I did get a little oil out of it. Any oil not getting into the intake is a good thing!

Might want to limit your caffine, way to wound up this early in the morning.

Too funny!

He is right however. Might as well start another oil thread. lol 100's of threads and thousands of posts on catch cans.

To answer your question, yes. Again, thousands of can owners here. Definitely not a gimmick. My advice is to put one on.

So recommended to have one in Souther California ? I have been thinking about adding one to mine ... but again like the OP said, if they were that much of a difference maker why not have them stock from the lot ?

Think that question through a bit, lol. The majority of people buy a vehicle, drive it till they trade it off/wreck it or whatever, and have never opened the hood on said vehicle, and you think they're going to drain or empty a catch can on schedule, very doubtful.
Plus it would add another few dollars to the cost of said vehicle, and the bean counters already try to under cut the cost of manufacturing as much as they can.

Emissions, simplicity and cost. Why don't rams have good tires off the lot? They're cheap asses. Why don't vehicles have good tunes on them from factory? Emissions. It's all to either idiot proof it for the consumer or make the emissions police happy or just because they're straight up cheap.

Another simple answer yet very helpful ...

Really sucks how much we have to do to these trucks to raise their chances of breaking down less ...

Living here in Cali sucks ...

A catch can from the factory would definitely have to self empty. No one wants maintenance. Well not many. Also if it wasn't self empty what would happen if someone didnt empty it, fireball ensue? Huge liability.

The Hellcats/ Demons / Track Hawks do have a factory installed air/oil separator aka catch can in the valve covers that drains the crankcase crap back into the oil pan.Not sure i'd want that stuff back in the crankcase, but it's the factories way of getting around the typical owners lack of maintence. Check out the top of their valve covers compared to a standard 5.7 / 6.4 valve cover.
Also check out the price differences, lol

So it has been done. Are they "forced " to do this because of the supercharger. More of this crap being blown by the rings. If they didn't there would be complications, buildup?

One reason to really have a great oil filter! Which i hear the SRT one is.

Yup,the blower motors build more cylinder pressure and consequently there is more blowby past the piston rings, and more crankcase pressure with more crankcase vapours to evacute.
