I like the install but WhiteExpress is right there is just something that puts me off on it. I think its the buttons on the screen and rounded area of the dash. Good job, are you doing anything else for stereo?

Probably gonna add a 10" sub under back seat but that's later on. It sounds pretty good so far

Nice. I can't do that. My climate controls are built into my 8.4A.

Came out to 115 for harness, 10 for dash kit, and 5 for antenna adapter. So 130 total.

I want to swap mine out but I have the 5.0 and the radio controls some of the trucks functions. Would I really be losing anything if I swapped it out? I'd love to have the larger screen with navigation and backup camera!

What Kenwood unit is that and do you mind sharing the part #'s for the adapter, harness, and kit?

Metra website has all the numbers. If I remember correctly the harness number is part # XSVI-5523-NAV

My kenwood is a ddx719. Couple years old but I like it

Smiley,
Just to be clear, this wiring harness allows for navigation and back-up camera functionality, correct? Did you install a back-up camera? I thought i found harness # XSVI-6523-NAV for this, but I'll have to go back and check. Obviously yours is working so...
Thanks for taking the time to help. I despise my 3.0. The Philco radio in my old 65 Ford was at least equal to this one.

It may be that number. I had the factory camera in the mirror. the harness has the reverse input signal and an rca for backup camera but the rca didn't work so I tapped into wires going to mirror. I think the rca works if you have the 5.0 stereo though. Don't remember if it had a VSS (speed sensor wire) and my kenwood isn't nav so I didn't need it either way I use google maps on my phone

How do you tap into the camera wire to make it work on the radio from the rear view mirror display?.

Thanks

I would also like to have a larger screen but I have the 5.0. I can't find any information about aftermarket head units and maintaining all current radio/computer controls.

You lose most of uConnect functions. You have to set them the way you want before you remove your stock head unit.

Something about the design doesn't strike me as tie-ing everything in nicely.

Don't get me know it looks good....but doesn't strike me as awesome looking / smooth / clean, The work you did looks good, dodges design however....
