Wondering if anyone else has had an issue with their drag link having too much play and causing vibration and excessive tire wear. Noticed mine started clicking when turning the wheel at lower speeds in neighborhood or parking lot. Took to dealer and they had to replace drag link due to excessive wear. Now I see a recall on older models for what seems to be the same issue. What really pissed me off is when I asked for some help on replacing the tires that were affected I was told nothing could be done. More than likely I will have to replace those 2 in half the time of the others which I hate doing 2 at a time, which means I'll change 4 and be more pissed that I didn't get the usage from any of the 4 tires.

Rant over. Stay safe....

The older ones were recalled for a completely different reason (out of spec threads). The new trucks have a re-designed drag link. I don't think I have seen anyone else with an issue on the new drag link so I don't think it's a problem across the board, just an isolated failure, it happens.
As far as the tires, yeah they consider that a "wear" item and highly unlikely they would replace it. How many miles on the truck? Sucks but that's pretty common.

I don't have a picture of the new one but the old one looks like below with the jam nuts. New one is a "pinch" style clamp. The old one were only on the 2013-2017 (or 18?) trucks. So not a worry for you guys with the 5th gen trucks, they have the new version.

This was the "fix" for the older ones, welding it....

Noticed click around 7500 miles. Got worse. Changed at just over 11k. Mechanic was shocked to see the wear with that few miles.
