Check the mirror fitting, air might be getting in from there. Happened to me when I changed my tow mirrors and the gasket was not properly installed.

Truth....I heard my random noise the other day while driving on highway. I hit the power fold button for the mirrors and the noise went away. Definitely mirror related.

I hope this is the proper forum to post this. New owner of a 2016 RAM 1500 Laramie that came back in from a lease. 11.5K miles on it and it looked like new (though I did find some primer speckles on the cab roof, under the clar coat, where the white paint didn't cover all the primer.) Also, I have the dreaded intermittent harsh shift coasting down into 1st gear. But I digress.

I've also got the intermittent wind noise from the drivers window. And beofre someone asks ... no, I didn't hear it on two test drives. Both times there was very little to any wind, and everything seemed fine. After two weeks of driving it since the purchase, I'd had days where the wind was up around 10MPH - 30MPH ... and the wind noise drives me nuts.

I had the dealer tech go with me ... after he did the TSB for the foam inserts between the outside mirrors and the door frame ... which didn't help. I was 99% sure they wouldn't, as the noise is coming from the left of, or behind my head.

He heard the noise as he drove the truck, wlthough it wasn't as pronounced as it can be since it wasn't real windy that day.

It seems to be at ear level, and seems to be near the B pillar at the back end of the driver's window. It's intermittent, but worse on cross wind days. Not a whistle. Most like a howling, but there's no "pitch" to the noise. So I guess I'd call it a wind "buffeting." VERY annoying when I drive 60 miles per day.

Folding in the mirrors (not tow mirrors) doesn't help.

I've tried bringing in the strikers a bit on that door to pull it in tighter That didn't help. The dealer tired a bit of pulling the window frame toward the truck. That didn't help either.

I put painters tape all over seam between the glass and the window channel last night ... and also around the mirror seams. Although it wasn't windy this morning, I could still faintly hear the same noise occasionally. I'll see how it behaves over the next two days or so. If the taping I've done around the glass seam doesn't help, I will ask for new door seals. I see there's both inner seals and outer.

The truck is still under warranty, and I've got a pretty good dealer. So we'll see. From all the posts I've read on this problem, it seems there's more than one fix as there seems to be more than one "noise".

I "only" paid $37K for the truck, and I'm still p.o'd about the annoying noise. I'd hate to have paid $50K for it and hear that noise.

My ‘15 had wind noise I pinpointed it to the passenger side corner of the windshield. Couldn’t figure out where it was coming from at first. My ‘18 has no noises

Most body shops roll the window down and give a few good tugs to the top of the window frame to bend it the 1/16" it needs to seal better. I have a 2016 chevy express that drips water through the door seal randomly at highway speeds and that's all the dealer has done to try and fix it since brand new. I will be starting my sound deadening project on my ram shortly and I am sure I will be addressing how to beef up the door seals

2018 big horn, and I have a wind noise from driver and passenger sides anytime I drive over 60mph. The weather stripping was replaced on both front doors by the dealer, but my noise is the exact same as before. I will be scheduling another appointment to see what else can be done.

I took my mirrors off and put weather stripping around the mating surface and that cured my noise. Try putting masking tape over areas u think might be causing it and see if it goes away. That's the best route.
