Hey All,
I tried the Loctite c5a on my driveshaft. It was good for 4 days. Still got clunk when stop or when start to go. It’s the trans downshifting late I can see it in DIC. The rotational Force on driveshaft from trans downshifting late and the brakes trying to stop is causing the the driveshaft to bind up. This would make sense to anyone wright?? Mine is 2018 ram CC carrier bearing 2 piece driveshaft. I just looked under a 2019 and it has 1 piece driveshaft. Wonder why the change? Because of all the issues with 2 piece. Thanks

Every now and then i also get a clunk. Mine is a 16 2500 cclb. I cant get it to do it when i want just happens sometimes. Maybe 2x a month. Also 2pc shaft. I thought about shimming the carrier to see if it would help clunk and take off shutter. Has anyone experienced a difference with the shims and clunk.

How far did you pull the shaft apart to lube it, I did this over 2 weeks ago and it is great. I also watch the shifting in manual mode and it downshifts after a complete stop every time if I am driving normal.

They changed driveshaft at 25,000 all 3 pieces. At 32,000 clunk came back.
Probably put on NOS one.
They had a bad batch of driveshafts from factory on some of these trucks and were changing out buy vin number.
Now at 36,000 they are putting another one on. They said the new one will cure it. I told them it better. It may be the upgraded one.
I told dealer and Ram Care if this, the 3 rd one does not cure it.

I will drive truck back to dealer contact Ram Care and they in good faith will buy it back and I will get a new one. Thanks

Hey All
Well had the 3rd driveshaft put on. they sId the other one was wY out of balance.
They also put a new stereo in it it was delineating from heat.
Also put 4 new door hinges on driver side doors.

The dented the front fender edge and cracked the paint.

My dealership can not do anything without causing more damage, and Aggravation. Every time.

I contacted Ram Care to let them know of damage.
They will have to repaint fender and possibly door.
What a bunch of crap.

I also told Ram Care if this driveshaft goes bad at 8,000 miles that I do not want truck and they will put it thru buy back.
They agreed. And will help with that. Time will tell. Thank You

I've got a 2019 3.6l I'm pretty sure mines a 2 piece steel driveshaft. I'm not to knowledgeable with trucks but I'm learning. I get the clunk right after I come to a stop and right after I let go of the brake to go. I'm going to try to attach some photos maybe yall can tell me if this looks off. To me it does, especially with the year of the vehicle. Also in-between some of the parts where it joints together it had a lot of like sand build up. I stuck my finger around in it and a bunch of stuff dropped down that looked like sand just a bit thicker of a texture almost like kinetic sand how it just molds together. I haven't taken my truck in yet, I'm getting a growing list of **** that keeps happening.
