Blowers, then go fast down the highway
I'm all in with the Absorbers. The Sham-Wows suck at drying a vehicle. The Absorbers always work.
I've used the absorber for years. My 13 year old one was starting to get a bit ratty, so I ordered a new one.
The new ones are no where near as good as the old ones. Something changed in how they are made in the past 13 years.
I bought a P21S Drying Towel based on recommendations - but haven't used it yet. Perhaps this weekend.
i use my leaf blower to get the water out from all the nook and crannies and then use a hi absorbent drying towel.
a shamwow...
On a recent episode of Fifth Gear they visited a guy who charges $5000 for a complete car detail and oh my god this guy actually did earn his money. He took a brand new Bentley that looked spotless and it was unbelievable what the paint looked like when he was done. I personally don’t do a lot of waxing with tools and such and I don’t wax that often either, but a couple things I did learn though were he used two buckets for washing. One with a spacer in the bottom of the bucket to rinse his mitt off after a body panel and the spacer was there to let the dirt settle in the bottom. His other bucket being his soap bucket. Secondly, and related to this thread was he used detail towels to dry the cars and only laid them on the car and lifted them straight up to dry the car, so to not drag the rag across the car. Pretty neat!
