I need to get rid of the Flowmaster that is on my truck. Anyway, I am thinking about dumping the exhaust right after the muffler, but I am not sure.

For those of you that have dumped exhaust, where did you dump it? Right after the muffler, or behind the axle, or where?

When I had my 08 I dumped my FM right at the muffler. What a beast. I loved it.

Mines dumped right out the muffler, sounds great to me. I did it as a quick fix but now I wouldn't have it any other way.

Ok. So here is what I am thinking. Either a Borla XR-1 or AeroTurbine 3030XL dumped right in front of the axle. If it drones to bad, I will take it over the axle. What do you think. I need to get rid of the FM, it drove me crazy on my trip the other day.

ditch the flomaster for the at3030, it sounds great. really loud though especially dumped after the muffler. the main problem was when i would open my rear passenger side door to put my son in or get him out it always smelled of exhaust. the no cats thing may have something to do with it too

Truckin, I have heard your exhaust clips on the other site and I always thought it sounded great.

I think performance wise, it is a tossup between the XR-1 and AT3030, and based on youtube videos, both sound great. I just have to decide which to do, right now I am leaning toward the borla because it is about $50 cheaper. I just need a little extra money and I will get it done.

I still have cat show that should help me out. I just wish I could do a side by side compare of the at30330 and the borla xr1 for sound. Youtube can only tell me so much.

Glass do the Aero. You will love it. Mines dumped before the axle and I love the way it sounds. Quiet at idle but when you get on it it sounds like the wrath of god. You won't be disappointed my friend.

Dont know about that, every site I checked when I was ordering mine wanted $130 for the XR-1, the Aero was something like $75 or so. Both mufflers are a straight through design and loud as hell when you get on them but I think the borla has a little less drone, actually it doesn;t have any drone, and is a little quieter at idle and light throttle.... well with the stock setup, with LT's it souds amazing. Those vid's dont do it justice though.

I like the at3030XL better than the 3030. The resonated version seems a little deeper in tone and should have less drone.

Truckin, is your XR-1 the 16" or 12" long version?

Moes has at3030 for $137, at3030xl for $170, that is the cheapest I have found them.

Jegs is the cheapest I have found the 16" oval XR-1, for $140

I'm sure you won't be disappointed whichever way you go. My 3030 is no where near as bad as my FM was. I hated that thing.
