The only benefit to the Jeep is that you can get the stick shift! And those base prices are going to climb through the roof as none of these will come without pricy options.

Gonna get shunned here but if you like the idea of the pentastar but want the resale value what about a gladiator? Pop the top off on your dd days. Still tow what you need to and by the sounds of it you dont y have a use for a big bed anymore. Idk just a thought as the gladiators and the wranglers do really well holding value.

I'm thinking about buying a 5th gen. 1 has the ecoD the other has the Etorque hemi 5.7.
Both are Bighorn Lonestar
Both have the offroad/sport pkgs
Which truck would have the best longevity and the better engine.
EcoD is $39K Hemi is $41K
Both epa stickers say 23mpg

I have a 2019 etorque 5.7 Limited and it does not get anywhere near the mileage rating. About 16 mpg in town, but I live in a town with lots of hilly roads. Also, you have to run 89 octane to get the 16 mpg, otherwise I am around 14 mpg. Highway about 19 mpg. If you go Interstate speeds (75 mph) you won't see the advertised rating. Don't think you are going to get the advertised rating on the gas because you won't. You will do better on the diesel, (I have had both) probably about 21 in town and on a flat highway with no wind you might see 29 to 30 mpg. However, where I live diesel has been running $.40 to $.90 cents a gallon more.
The etorque engine is very peppy and fun to drive. I guess I prefer it over the diesel but would be happy with either.
The diesel has quite a bit more torque so if you are pulling a trailer you might might it better

So all in all going with the standard 5.7 would be the best route? Can't find a bighorn with the V6 or I'd look at that.

In all reality my ideal truck would be a Lonestar/BigHorn v6 4x4
Awesome interior and creature comfort along with great gas mileage.
Thats most likely a unicorn...

I had a 2017 1500 with 5.7 and traded it for a 2019 Eco-Diesel. Much happier. Less mechanical issues. Power is great and much better towing economy. 5.7 is great for speed, but, economy is an issue for me hauling a 31 foot trailer. Average economy mixed city and highway is 22-23 MPG and towing is around 12. With Hemi is was 8. I can live with that.

These are two very different driving experiences. We live at altitude in Colorado, & own a Longhorn 1500 EcoDiesel, a F250 Powerstroke & an older LandCruiser. The diesels are made for towing and provide smooth pull without constant up & down shifts. Diesels generally go forever & there is no reason to be afraid of them. On the other hand, the Hemi is definitely more of a hot rod & will win every stoplight duel. A lot of it comes down to personal preference & how you will use it. You can't go wrong with either.

I've had both the eco diesel is my choice. The etorque didn't seem to assist as much as advertised. The diesel regen is seamless if you drive it. Not to the local store and back. If you look around you can find diesel at about 35 cents over the 89 octane the etorque wants. niether will match the CTD.

NONBIAS OPINION ONLY Please

That is near impossible. Opinions are, by definition, the view of a person based on their personal interpretation of observations.

I think what you wanted was "FACTS ONLY". Which is unlikely on a public forum populated by the general public, most of which (myself included) are here because they have an opinion...

I've never been a diesel guy, but my nephew loves his eco diesel.
Gets better mileage than my Hemi for sure.
I do dislike the E-torq hemis.
Of the 2 you listed I'd probably buy the diesel.
