Searched the threads but couldn't find any info. 13 Sport, hemi, 67000 miles, 2wd, 6spd trans.. replaced mechanical fan with efan, now ac freezes up on long drives. High pressures when idling in garage until fan comes on, then pressures go down...come back up when fan kicks off...anyone?

you need to have air going over the condenser when the AC is running or the head pressure will rise. With a clutch fan even when not engaged the fan still draws some air over the condenser.

The efan should always come on with the a/c correct??
The efan should come on when the high side pressure reaches a certain threshold, 180PSI I seem to remember seeing. If its below that PSI threshold, it will not come on. So if its really hot out and you have the ac on, the fan should kick on. But if you're going down the road, there may be enough airflow through the ac condenser to keep the high side pressure under the threshold for the efan to come on.

The factory tune has the efan come on when the coolant temp reaches 222* and shut off at 212*. The efan is calibrated from the factory to be a supplement to the clutch fan, not the sole cooling fan.

No tune, all stock. Fan functions as it should, just trying to figure out why it freezes on mid to long drives. Truck doesn't overheat. Temps never get above 205...

Freezing AC line could indicate low refrigerant, a bad, low pressure valve and or moisture in the system.
But I’m not a AC tech, somebody knows a lot more than me needs to chime in

Not stock if you changed from belt drive to efan, that computer should turn on the fan as soon as you turn AC on, Is that happening?
I can't really tell on mine if the windows are up, but on the Honda , you can hear it easy.

As Hemi395 mentioned, the E-fan will only run under specific circumstances and not always with the AC on.

However, IIRC, selecting MAX AC or setting the circulation control to recirculate and cranking the setpoint as low as possible will cause the E-fan to run immediately and continuously.

I will try to remember to test this tomorrow.
