I kind of wish I had a giant 3-4 foot fan that I could just lay down on the ground under the engine to help cool it down...or at least to help me not melt to death. Damn vegas and it'd super hot dry weather!

Alright install is done!!!

Start to finish, not including the clutch fan because the dealer removed it, it only took me about 15-20 minutes to swap the parts. Probably would only have taken 5 if I knew what I was doing :p

Alright, here's the DIY..please let me know what you think and if you have any questions, feel free to ask

But here's a few pic's of the install

So my biggest question is...how did this mod affect drivability? I remember when I did the e-fan in my V6 Silverado the truck seemed to be a little more..."spirited". With so much HP on tap though with the Hemi, did you notice any real differences?

I didn't notice much on the HP front, but its a little quieter on start up and I get about 1/2-1 mpg better with it.

Same with me so far, I haven't really noticed any gain as removing the clutch fan returns about 5-10 hp I believe and at that low of a number, you can't really feel it. I have noticed a slight mpg increase though, still to early to tell however because I've only driven about 30 miles since the swap but on my normal route to and from work, I've noticed the eco light coming on a little more often and even when it isn't on, I'm watching my meter and it shows better numbers then before.

So I filled up a couple days ago and so far have driven about a 1/4 of a tank with the Efan on and I must defiantly say that if you are on the wall about this or if you are looking to ways to save gas, do it! On average by now my avg mpg is at 14.3 - 14.6 and right now with no change in my driving habits at all, I'm bouncing between 16.3 - 16.6 mpg. Of course I wont know for a fact how much better this is on gas until I have to fill up again and can do the math by hand but as far as looking at the cluster goes, this was a 118 dollar worth wild mod.

I'm going to actually going to have to try and use up the rest of the tank over the next couple days because I am holding off on installing the magnaflow y-pipe and the new tips I have so I can do at least one full tank with the Efan being the only change and get 1 good mpg review on the mod.

Do 2012's have e-fans? I havent looked but by the way the fan sounds they seem to be electic.

I can still hear them spinning after i have shut my truck off if they were engaged.

What is the point in that??

The electric fan it has is the ac fan. Comes on with ac. The clutch fan is for cooling the engine. The e-fan everyone's installing removed the clutch fan from the engine freeing up a little power and acts as the cooling fan and the ac fan.

Serves both purposes

So I filled my truck up today, it was a little below a half a tank and had 240.3 miles on it when I filled her up. With the efan installed I was able to achieve a 15.5 mpg up from the 14.3 - 14.6 avg I've had for the last year. I wish I could have gotten a few more filler ups with the only change being the efan but I had to get a y-pipe and some tips but oh well, lol. We'll see how these things go together for mileage although good or bad, I could kind of care less because I didn't buy a truck to have good gas mileage and I most defiantly don't have the foot for conservation either, haha.
