Anyone done this? I saw a video where they used a kit from Flex a Lite and had positive results with a 5.7 HEMI. With shipping the kit is right at $400, I'm wondering if it's worth it for my little 4.7

The clutch fan is honestly more reliable for a 4.7 if your running warm just swap it out with a new one $50 no real need for a E fan conversion as you wont be racing with that engine.

I'm not running warm at all. You're correct, I won't be racing this rig. However I do commute 600+ miles a week in it and am trying to eek out any economy I can get out of it

I've done it on a 02 1500 5.9. Flex-a-lite kit #183. working great! Increased about 1mpg in town, haven't gotten a good reading on the highway yet, but I think it's about 3-4 mpg increase. THERE IS A REASON new vehicles have electric fans!

In cars yeah, because they're so tightly packaged that a slim electric fan is the only thing that will fit in the space as well as most smaller and small displacement engines would get bogged down trying to turn their own cooling fan lol. What do most trucks nowadays still have? Mechanical engine driven fans.....
