I have a 2016 Ram 2500 with the 6.4L. I bought it a year ago in April A few days after I bought it, the battery died. Dodge replaced the battery no questions asked. Here I am a year later, similar thing, slow to start, the no start. I've jumped started it and let it charge and as soon as I shut it off, its dead again.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Does the truck sit for long periods?

Did you or the previous owner install any aftermarket equipment that would possibly draw static current?

First thing is check alternator, could be the problem. Second thing is the battery, when drained, needs a good slow charge. Put a battery charger on it for a day or so at low amp setting. You could also have something drawing power when off, only real way to find that is to test all connections at fuse block with key off, also could pull fuses one at a time at night and replace in morning. Once truck does not start, you found it. Maybe someone else will have a better answer, good luck.

Truck never sits. it's an every day driver. I thought it was the alternator as well, it appears to be holding a charge but as soon as I shut it off, it won't start again... hmmmmmm

Thanks for the advice, I'll check it out tomorrow.

Never had a OEM battery last more than 2 years myself. If you have a volt meter, check it at the battery with the truck running and you should see 13.6-14.7. If you do, probably not the alternator. Had good luck with Napa battery's over the years
